Jungle Fight 156 takes place this Saturday, the 24th, at the Ibirapuera Gymnasium in São Paulo, and crowns the champions of the second edition of the Fight do Milhão. In the main event, São Paulo natives Bianca Sattelmayer and Nágila Goku fight for the strawweight belt, up to 52 kg. In the co-main event, champion Ernane Pimenta and Piauí native Fabrício ‘Bakai’ decide the welterweight tournament, up to 77 kg. Each winner takes home the title and R$500,000, half of the total R$1 million prize.
The card features 16 fights and marks the end of a journey that began with eight fighters in each bracket. The tournament’s first season, which also wrapped up at Ibirapuera in October last year, crowned Marcelo Medeiros and Leidiane Fernandes. Now, four fighters who reached the final with wins by submission, knockout and close decision are trying to repeat that feat and change their own stories in Brazilian MMA for good.

WOMEN’S FINAL CLOSES THE JUNGLE FIGHT 156 NIGHT WITH AN ALL-SÃO PAULO CLASH FOR THE STRAWWEIGHT BELT
For the first time, a women’s Fight do Milhão final headlines one of the promotion’s numbered events. Born in São José dos Campos, Bianca Sattelmayer started MMA at 14 and had to overcome six straight losses early in her career to reach the top. Today, she is unbeaten on Brazilian soil since 2022. In the tournament, she submitted Isabella Araújo with a guillotine in the first round and got past Yasmin Guimarães in the semifinal by split decision, after turning the fight around on the feet.
Across the cage will be Nágila Goku, born in Guarujá and raised in Registro, in the interior of São Paulo state. Coming from kickboxing and muay thai, she moved to MMA at 29, still a Jiu-Jitsu white belt, and heard from many people that it was already too late. Her answer came in the cage: she opened the tournament with a unanimous decision win over Fabrízia Ketlinn and, in the semifinal, submitted Regiane Borges with a guillotine in the second round, showing how much her ground game has evolved.
For both of them, the prize money already has a destination. Bianca and Nágila say their first step, if they win, is buying a home of their own and leaving rent behind. Jungle Fight president Wallid Ismail celebrated the decision to put the women at the top of the card and said the finalists got there on merit, after beating extremely tough opponents.
UNBEATEN IN THE PROMOTION, ERNANE PIMENTA PROMISES A KNOCKOUT AND EVEN OFFERS TO SHARE THE PRIZE WITH HIS OPPONENT
The reigning Jungle Fight welterweight champion, 28-year-old Ernane Pimenta, has 10 wins and just one loss on his record and remains unbeaten in the promotion. ‘The Lion’ reached the final with wins over Glebson Monteiro and Guilherme Silva, the latter knocked out in just 1:17 in the semifinal in June, in São José dos Campos. Pimenta doesn’t hide his confidence: he said he plans to knock Bakai out and, as consolation, promised to deposit R$10,000 into his opponent’s account if he takes the prize.
The Pará native recalls that he once held two jobs before he could make a living from fighting, and wants to use the money to give his mother, wife and children a better life. After the tournament, the plan is to return to lightweight, up to 70 kg, a division where he says he feels faster. A path that took shape in the promotion on nights like Jungle Fight 142, at Riocentro, when Ernane Pimenta faced André Fischer on a card that featured two title fights.
AWAY FROM HIS DAUGHTER FOR FIVE YEARS, FABRÍCIO ‘BAKAI’ COUNTS ON EXPERIENCE TO TURN THE FIGHT AROUND IN THE LATER ROUNDS
At 37, Fabrício ‘Bakai’ Martins carries one of the strongest stories of the night. The Piauí native has lived for nine years in Varginha, in southern Minas Gerais, where he splits his routine between training and working as a bartender. Between 2021 and 2022, he lost his father and grandfather and could not attend their funerals. He thought about quitting MMA, but his coach’s support kept him in the sport. In the tournament, he got past Martin Farley and, in the semifinal, beat Matheus Araújo by unanimous decision.
Bakai has not visited his 10-year-old daughter, who lives in Piauí, in five years, and dreams of buying a house to bring her closer. As for Pimenta’s trash talk, he answered with strategy: he pointed out that most of his opponent’s wins ended in the first round. “Let’s see how it goes from the second round on. Whoever has better endurance and the experience of fighting five rounds can make the difference,” Bakai said in an interview this week.
A SEMIFINALIST’S RETURN AND A HEAVYWEIGHT CLASH ROUND OUT THE MAIN CARD AT IBIRAPUERA
Eliminated by Bakai in the semifinal, Matheus Araújo returns to the cage against Rafael ‘Cabeça’ Silva, also at welterweight. The card also has Day Monster vs. Regiane at strawweight, heavyweights Wilian Roberto and Hugo Cunha, and a bantamweight bout between Jhonatha Frazão and Luiz ‘Buakaw’. Jungle Fight 156 starts at 8 p.m. Brasília time, broadcast in full on Combate and sportv 3. Both Fight do Milhão finals air live on TV Globo, right after Altas Horas.
